The prefered buffing compound for aluminum is "Tripoli", which is followed up with "White Rouge" (primarily a coloring compound to produce a brilliant mirror-like finish). "Red Rouge" is not prefered for aluminum, it was design to pollish gold /silver and brass (refered to as "Jewelers Rouge").
